Bread and Breakfast Bakes

We love:

Hot buttered crumpets!

Hot buttered crumpets!

  • Seeded bread – and usually have a good few loaves in the freezer too.
  • Soda Bread – a Stanley family favourite, recipe coming soon!
  • Crumpets – best eaten fresh (with lashings of butter!) as they tend to go a bit chewy when they’ve been in the freezer.
  • Hot cross buns – these freeze really well and shops often have offers on them if you buy multiple packs. Look out for my ‘Easter Spiced Pudding’ made with hot cross buns in a couple of weeks.
  • Naan bread – we go for the lower fat versions (standard versions can have up to 20g of saturated fat per slice!) with some seeds or spice in to make them a bit more interesting.
  • Garlic pitta bread – can toast this directly from the freezer, as long as you’ve frozen it straight (!), as a virtually fat-free alternative to Naan bread
  • Garlic Bread – ASDA’s Tomato and Garlic bread is our no1!
  • Ciabatta loaves – for making my delicious Creamy Mushroom Bruschetta!
